You can edit your profile in the app by going to the settings tab and clicking on the first row that says ‘Personal Details.’ From there, you can change your profile picture, your name, and your hospital name and address.
No, the CareID you create when you sign up cannot be changed to ensure that you always know who you are connecting with. There cannot be duplicate CareIDs, and you cannot change your CareID, so you will know that the person you are communicating with has always been the same because they cannot change their CareID, and there cannot be another person with the same CareID.
To create a new group chat, you can go to the chat tab and click on the three dots in the top right corner. There will be four options that appear in the menu; click ‘New Group’, and from there, you will be led to a screen where you can upload a group icon, change the group name, and add people. When you are done, click the create button.
Before you take a picture with the camera, you need to give the app permission to use the camera. If you accidentally deny the permission, you can go to your phone’s settings and enable access to the camera from there. Find HosTalky listed in your settings and click the switch next to the camera icon to allow HosTalky access to the camera.
In the app, click the bottom left icon to bring you to your contacts page. Click the purple ‘plus (+)’ button and type the CareID in the search box. Once you have typed the correct CareID in the search box, click the arrow button, and the person should appear in your search results. Click the contact and begin communicating.
Yes, in the HosTalky app, you can update your contact information by clicking on the settings icon in the bottom right of your screen. To change your email, click the second row that says ‘Email Address.’ Delete your previous email and replace it with a new email and click the ‘Update’ button to successfully change your email. If you want to add a new phone number, you can click the third row in the settings tab that says ‘Phone Number.’ Add your second phone number and when you are done, click the ‘Add’ button.
In the chat section of HosTalky, you will see a bar near the top of the app that says your name and the number of reminders (with the bell icon), announcements and personal notes. Click on the last icon, and it will take you to a place where you can type your personal notes.
Your CareID is your new kind of identity that you will use to connect with your colleagues and other healthcare workers. Other users can find you through your CareID, so you don’t need to share your personal phone number.
HosTalky has integrated several apps into one, like a chat application, notes and other features that you can find in just one application being HosTalky.
You can invite people in the HosTalky app by going to the settings tab in the bottom right corner of your screen and scrolling to the bottom row that says ‘Invite People.’ You will be able to invite anyone already in your contacts by clicking on the ‘+ Invite’ button on the right side of the contact.
We are working on expanding our system to desktop computers and laptops, but for now, HosTalky is only available as a mobile phone app for iOS and Android.
To message someone, you need to know their CareID. You can search their CareID in the search bar and begin connecting with them by clicking on their profile. For people to message you, they need to know your CareID and search for it to start messaging you.
